Introduction

Influence Networks is an open-source, collaborative directory of relationships between people, institutions and companies. Each relation has its own level of trustworthiness, so that facts can be distinguished from noise.

You can explore the database on your own and contribute by adding a relation. If you can’t think of any interesting relationship right now, you can also review what other users have input and improve the reliability of the data.

Influence Networks for Journalists

Visualizing networks make it easier for readers to understand complex stories. Influence Networks lets you embed graphs into your articles, providing for a more exciting experience.

You can also use the platform as a repository and help other investigations by sharing the data you input. Information given by journalists from partner organizations is automatically given the highest trustworthiness level.

Influence Networks for Citizens

Intrigued about a possible conflict of interest in your area? You can use Influence Networks to put the pieces together, using publicly available information as a source.

Contribute to the database and review what others have input so that we, together, are able to uncover potential conflict of interest and keep the powerful in check.

Influence Networks for Developers

Influence Networks is an experiment in semantic journalism. Every piece of data is in RDF format and can be integrated to the wider web of data.

If you want to help us build the semantic web and contribute to a socially meaningful project, fork us on GitHub!
